No apologies in order

The follow-up to the Monday night thriller:
The Cardinals got about as much criticism as ever for a game they won. That’s what happens when expectations rise.
But coach Ken Whisenhunt on Tuesday wasn’t in a mood to apologize. He credited the 49ers for playing well. Moreover, some games, even in a good season, can come down unexpectedly to the wire…
Whisenhunt expressed disappointment in punter Dirk Johnson, though he said he’s not looking for a replacement at the moment….
He also said the Cardinals need more from their tight end spot. He believes all four will be healthy this week, so he’ll have to make decisions on who to go with…
Whisenhunt is now 14-11 with the Cardinals. Through 25 games, this is the best record for a Cardinal coach since somebody named Norm Barry (16-7-2) for the Chicago Cardinals in the 1920s.
