Leinart, Warner look sharp in last exhibition game

August 29th, 2008, 8:47 pm · 1 Comment · posted by Mike Tulumello

Matt Leinart has spiced up the quarterback saga.

He led the Cardinals on a 90-yard drive, completing 4-of-4 passes along the way for 87 yards (including a 17-yard score to Leonard Pope).

For the first half, he hit 10 of 14 passes for 177 yards and an eye-popping 137.5 passer rating.

Kurt Warner also was effective, hitting 4-of-4 passes for 48 yards. But his first drive was a 3-and-out.

Of course, they were playing against the Broncos second-teamers.

The question: Did Leinart play his way back into the starter’s role? Or has the decision already been made for Warner?

  1. Don Constanzo Says:

Leinart is a spoiled baby! Leaving the locker room early over the last two games implies that his ego is more important then the team.

If Leinart is made the starter it is only because of the investment the Cardinals has made. There is no question Warner is a better quarterback and class act!
