First thoughts….

First impressions of the first exhibition game:
– Matt Leinart, as advertised, is an improved model. He looked sharp.
– The Cardinals’ still need a lot of work in pass defense. The Saints’ QBs cut them up.
– Draftees Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Calais Campbell, Kenny Iwebema and Tim Hightower look like they can play. Same goes for the undrafted rookie Ali Highsmith.
– Penalties, the team’s most embarrassing aspect last season, still are a big problem.
– Few coaches seem less concerned about pre-season games than Ken Whisenhunt. The Cards went 0-4 last season and he never seemed worried. Those exhibition games really didn’t give you many clues as to how their season would go.
