Grimm outlook

Nice piece about the potential impact of the Ken Whisenhunt-Russ Grimm coaching combo for the Cards, penned by SI’s Michael Silver. Having interviewed Grimm a couple of times, it’s easy to see why he is viewed as head coaching material.Interesting take by Edgerrin James in the story, noting that the team’s new weight room "has that prison-yard feel." And he means it in a good way.

Thanks for the link to the SI article. Not living in the Valley, I’m always on the prowl for any tidbit that gives me a taste of the team environment and chemistry.

It’s hard to put into words, but I’ll try - Based on purely a gut sense of what things must be like under WIz and Grimm, the image that comes to my mind is similar to what’s depicted in cop movies when their families get together for backyard barbecues - a feeling of comraderie mixed in with a relaxed sense of professionalism and expertise.

The tidbit in the SI article about hoisting beers in Grimm’s Disney World backyard seems to echo this.

    I like it.
